This award is a testament to the Group’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility across all its New Zealand and Pacific properties.
Head of property and environmental policy advisor Richard Hayman proudly accepted the award on behalf of the Group, underscoring the Group’s dedication to preserving the natural beauty and resources of our unique region.
Additionally, Scenic Hotel Group is pleased to celebrate Rebecca Mangan, management accountant, and Kathryn Jenkins, people and culture manager for earning Highly Commended honours in the Finance Associate and Human Resources Associate categories, respectively. This recognition highlights their dedication and exceptional contributions to the organisation and the hospitality industry.
The Group would also like to congratulate Raj Karekar, hotel manager at Scenic Hotel Punakaiki for being shortlisted for the Rising Star Award from more than 140 applications. Raj’s recognition underscores his exceptional leadership and potential within the industry.

The 2024 HM Awards for Hotel and Accommodation Excellence, presented by Sealy Posturepedic, recognises personal and company excellence across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific. This year’s 22nd edition was held on November 1 at the Cordis Hotel in Auckland, where more than 1800 nominations competed across more than 40 categories.
