Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Solstice arrived in Sydney Harbour on April 9, marking its first visit following a major refurbishment and signalling renewed cruise activity in the region.
The vessel departs Sydney on April 10 for a 16-night voyage to Honolulu, following a repositioning sailing from Singapore via Darwin, Port Douglas, Cairns and Airlie Beach.
Refurbishment targets experience-led travel
The upgrade is part of a wider investment to modernise the Solstice Series, with the ship introducing new entertainment venues, dining concepts and reconfigured onboard spaces.
New additions include entertainment lounges, social venues and updated accommodation offerings, alongside enhancements to existing guest facilities.
Regional cruise activity
The arrival reflects ongoing cruise movement across the Asia-Pacific, with itineraries linking Southeast Asia, Australia and the Pacific Islands.
Celebrity Solstice is scheduled to return to the Australasian market in October as part of a broader deployment across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.
Planned itineraries include New Zealand sailings visiting ports such as Tauranga and Napier, as well as scenic cruising through southern fiords.
Market context
The ship’s return follows a series of regional port calls and comes as cruise operators continue to position ships across the Pacific ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Celebrity Cruises will also deploy Celebrity Edge in the region, offering additional itineraries across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.
