Horwath HTL New Zealand, the country’s leading independent advisory firm for the hospitality, tourism, and leisure sectors, has appointed Daniel Oh and Douglas Drummond as directors.
The appointments expand Horwath HTL’s expertise across New Zealand and the Pacific, strengthening its capability in hospitality performance, destination development, and sustainable tourism investment.
Daniel brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across hotel operations, finance, and development. Most recently vice president of operations for Accor Hotels New Zealand and Fiji, he was instrumental in driving growth and operational excellence across a portfolio spanning luxury to economy brands.
Earlier, as director of finance for Accor Hotels in New Zealand, Fiji, and French Polynesia, Daniel oversaw financial strategy and governance for a regional portfolio of around NZD $1 billion in assets.
“I’m genuinely excited to be joining Horwath HTL, the world’s leading hospitality, tourism, and leisure advisory network,” Daniel says.
“The tourism and leisure sectors across New Zealand and the Pacific are evolving rapidly.
“Horwath HTL’s local depth and global scale position us ideally to support that transformation and help clients capitalise on emerging trends and long-term growth opportunities.”
Douglas brings more than 25 years of global experience across hospitality, tourism, and wellbeing. He has held senior leadership roles with organisations including Soho House, Aman Resorts, and the Esalen Institute, where he focused on integrating hospitality, community wellbeing, and environmental stewardship.
As a director, Douglas will specialise in destination development, wellbeing strategy, and sustainable business design. His consulting work aligns financial performance with Environmental, Social and Governance principles to help clients position hotels, resorts, and destinations for long-term success.
A graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, Douglas says New Zealand has a distinctive opportunity to lead in sustainable hospitality.
“I’m excited to contribute my experience in hospitality, wellbeing, and destination development to Horwath HTL’s continued success,” he says.
“New Zealand has a unique opportunity to redefine what quality hospitality and sustainable tourism can look like globally.”
Horwath HTL New Zealand principals Stephen Hamilton and Wim Ruepert say the appointments reflect the firm’s ongoing investment in local expertise and international capability.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Daniel and Douglas to the team,” they say.
“They embody the qualities that define Horwath HTL — strategic insight, practical expertise, and a commitment to sustainable outcomes. Their combined knowledge strengthens our ability to help clients unlock new opportunities with confidence.”
