Air New Zealand’s Grabaseat team is hot on the trail of a passenger with a heart (and hands) full of chicken. This unflappable hero turned a flight delay into a ‘finger-lickin’ feel-good’ moment by sharing a “big feed” of KFC with fellow stranded travellers.
Now, Grabaseat and the Colonel want to reward this unsung hero with a bucket-load of thanks and an unforgettable experience.
The crispy tale unfolded during a travel disruption at Auckland Airport on Wednesday morning. One nameless legend saw hungry customers waiting for flights and swooped in with a “big feed” of KFC and spread the delicious joy with those around them.
To honour this hero’s extra tasty act of kindness, Grabaseat and KFC are offering up a special gift. They’re offering the generous Good Samaritan the opportunity to grab domestic flights to any KFC branch of their choice in Aotearoa. To top it all off, KFC is also adding a $500 KFC voucher to the mix to give the unsung hero the opportunity to enjoy some of the Colonel’s best too.
Air New Zealand’s general manager of domestic Scott Carr praised the passenger’s selflessness.
“Travel disruption can be stressful, but this generous soul decided to wing it and bring the joy. It’s rare to see someone share a feast in the face of frustration, and we’re cluckin’ proud to reward them for spreading the love.”
Grabaseat is calling on passengers and the wider community to help identify this mystery chicken champion. If you know the person responsible for bringing the “big feed” of KFC at the airport, Grabaseat encourages you to come forward so they can be properly celebrated.
“We’ve all experienced those moments where a small act of kindness makes a big difference,” says Scott. “This is one of those moments, and we think it deserves to be celebrated with a side of applause.”
