Luxury boutique hotel, Regent of Rotorua, today unveiled a brand-new wing, adding 12 sophisticated Superior Rooms and expanding its total capacity by 35 per cent.
This exciting development caters to the rising demand for premium accommodation in the vibrant tourist destination, offering guests even more choice and enhanced comfort.
“This expansion is a testament to our unwavering belief in the potential of Rotorua as a world-class tourist destination,” says Brook Serene managing director Bruce Garrett.
“By adding 12 new rooms, we’re contributing to the local economy and creating new employment opportunities. These new Superior Rooms not only expand our capacity but also offer guests a luxurious haven with thoughtful amenities and modern comforts. We’re confident this expansion will further solidify Regent of Rotorua’s position as a leading destination for memorable stays in the heart of Rotorua.”
Previously made up of 35 accommodation rooms, the new wing comprises 12 accommodation rooms across two floors and includes an accessible room. This brings the total inventory for the hotel to 47 rooms per night increasing inventory by 35 per cent to a total of 8760 bed nights per annum.
RotoruaNZ’s international manager Lou Baddiley says the introduction of the new rooms at Regent of Rotorua is fantastic for the destination.
“We’re seeing a rising demand for boutique and premium accommodation. These 12 new rooms translate to an additional 4380 room nights for Rotorua annually, which is significant. Regent of Rotorua’s investment, and development, of their new wing demonstrates their dedication to meeting changing visitor preferences and enhancing our competitiveness as a tourism destination.”
The design of the new rooms was completed by Dalman Architects and the build timeline was completed ahead of schedule. With privacy panels on the first floor balconies, plush carpets, double vanities in the bathrooms and all the creature comforts you demand in a luxury boutique hotel including microwaves that chirp and welcome you into your room.
“Dalman Architects are delighted to be architects and interior designers for the new wing at the Regent of Rotorua, continuing our longstanding relationship with Brook Serene. The exterior of the new building complements the existing buildings and reinterprets their black and white aesthetic with a new elegant simplicity,” says Dalman Architects’ Richard Dalman.
The interiors combine classical and modern elements to create a sophisticated and relaxing atmosphere, in keeping with the luxury feel of the hotel. We enjoyed working with Bruce Garrett on the design of the new wing and are very proud with the result.”
A stunning mural adorns one wall visible as you approach the hotel from Rangiuru St. Designed and painted by local artist Claire Delaney-McLeary this is the largest installation Delaney-McLeary has completed to date and pairs beautifully with a smaller mural installed in the private mineral pool at Regent of Rotorua. Both scenes capture native birds and plant life.
Regent of Rotorua is recognized as one of the high quality, safe and sustainable hotels in New Zealand by being rated four plus stars and awarded the gold Qualmark status under the Sustainable Business criteria.
