The Travel Agents’ Association of New Zealand has launched a co-funded training initiative with ServiceIQ to help travel businesses develop and retain skilled staff.
The programme gives TAANZ members subsidised access to industry qualifications, including the New Zealand Certificate in Travel (Corporate and Retail), the Te Haeata New Zealand Certificate in Business Events, and a new Experienced Consultant Award recognising the skills of long-serving travel professionals.
TAANZ chief executive Julie White says investing in people is critical to building a resilient travel industry.
“Travel is a people-focused industry, and having skilled, knowledgeable professionals is critical to delivering great experiences for travellers.
“We want to support businesses to grow their teams, while also recognising the expertise already within our industry.”
The Experienced Consultant Award provides experienced consultants without formal qualifications with a pathway to gain an NZQA-recognised qualification through a fast-track assessment process.
The initiative is available to TAANZ members, with businesses enrolling directly through ServiceIQ at subsidised rates.
