Central Auckland apartment hotel The Chancellor on Hobson has completed a refurbishment of all 65 guest rooms, positioning the property to meet growing visitor demand.
The refurbishment, which began in late 2025, includes new flooring, beds, furniture, smart TVs, curtains, artwork and refreshed décor across the hotel’s studio rooms and one and two-bedroom apartments.
Area general manager Steve Martin says the investment reflects confidence in Auckland’s tourism outlook.
“This investment reflects our confidence in Auckland’s tourism outlook. We wanted The Chancellor on Hobson to be ready for the increasing visitor demand, with a product that matches one of the best locations in the city.”
Martin says the property’s apartment-style accommodation continues to appeal to both leisure travellers and extended-stay corporate guests, offering kitchen and laundry facilities alongside hotel services.
Located on the corner of Hobson and Fanshawe Streets, the hotel is within walking distance of the Viaduct, Sky Tower, Britomart and the Auckland Ferry Terminal. Facilities include an indoor heated pool, hot tub, sauna, fitness centre and on-site parking.
The Chancellor on Hobson forms part of the Hotel Grand Chancellor portfolio, alongside the recently opened Hotel Grand Chancellor Auckland on Wellesley Street.
