Auckland Airport inter-terminal walkway reopens

Auckland Airport’s inter-terminal walkway will return at the end of July, meaning walking will once again be an option for travellers transferring between the domestic and international terminals.

The inter-terminal walkway, which sees travellers follow a green line painted on the footpath, was closed in March while construction took place.

Site works are at a stage where it’s safe to reopen a walking route between the two terminals, says Auckland Airport general manager operations Anna Cassels-Brown.

“Our inter-terminal walkway has always been popular with passengers who enjoy the opportunity to stretch their legs and get some fresh air with a short walk in between flights,” says Anna.

“We’re pleased to welcome it back following a new route which includes a pedestrian canopy along Fred Ladd Way – an improvement on the old route which cut through a carpark near the domestic terminal.”

The inter-terminal walkway will officially reopen at 4:30am July 30.

Passengers will still have the option of riding the green inter-terminal bus. This free bus service operates every 15 minutes, 5am to 11pm.
