MEETINGS sets new business record

MEETINGS 2026 generated a record NZ$170 million in projected business, a 55 per cent increase on last year, according to Business Events Industry Aotearoa.

Held at the New Zealand International Convention Centre in June, the event attracted a record 1600 delegates, including more than 700 qualified buyers and over 260 exhibitors representing 19 regions.

BEIA chief executive Lisa Hopkins says the results reflect strong demand for New Zealand as a business events destination.

“This reinforces the positive momentum which is being felt across the sector, with strong interest from both domestic and international buyers to hold business events in New Zealand.

“It also underscores the importance of MEETINGS as the industry’s flagship trade event, connecting the industry with key decision-makers and creating opportunities that translate into future business.”

BEIA says buyer numbers increased 20 per cent on 2025, while the projected value of bookings rose 55 per cent. The figures are based on post-event surveys completed by hosted and day buyers and independently verified.

The 30th MEETINGS will be held at the NZICC on June 29–30, 2027.
