The Hotel Britomart has been named New Zealand’s top hotel in Tripadvisor’s latest Travellers’ Choice Awards, while also ranking sixth in the South Pacific.
The Auckland hotel was recognised in Tripadvisor’s 2026 Travellers’ Choice Awards, marking the second time it has taken the top New Zealand spot after also topping the country’s rankings in 2023.
The latest result follows another milestone for the property last year, when it was named one of only three New Zealand hotels to receive a Michelin Key.
General manager Clinton Farley says the Tripadvisor recognition is particularly significant because it is based on guest reviews and ratings rather than industry judging panels.
“This one really means a lot to us because it comes directly from our guests and their experiences with our team,” Clinton says.
Since opening in October 2020, The Hotel Britomart has built a reputation around design-led accommodation, sustainability and personalised service in central Auckland’s Britomart precinct. The 99-room hotel is also New Zealand’s first 5 Green Star hotel.
Clinton says the latest award reflects the work of the team in creating a distinctive guest experience grounded in local culture and hospitality.
The recognition places The Hotel Britomart among the highest-rated accommodation experiences in the South Pacific and adds to a growing list of accolades for the waterfront property.
