EVT Hotels & Resorts has launched an app in ChatGPT, becoming what it says is the first hotel group in Australia and New Zealand to make its accommodation offering available through the AI platform.
The app allows travellers to discover EVT properties, explore room types, access hotel information and begin the booking journey within ChatGPT conversations.
EVT says the move is part of a wider digital strategy designed to position its hotel brands for AI-powered search and conversational discovery, as travellers increasingly use generative AI tools alongside traditional search channels.
To support the launch, EVT has built a dedicated property data hub across its hotel portfolio, providing structured hotel and room data designed for AI systems. The company says this allows AI platforms to better understand, surface and recommend its properties in conversational search environments.
EVT group general manager technology and digital Andrew Turner says the business is responding to rapid changes in how travellers research accommodation.
“The way travellers discover and evaluate hotels is evolving rapidly. AI-powered search and conversational experiences are becoming an important part of the customer journey, and we see a significant opportunity to ensure our brands and properties are represented accurately and effectively in these environments,” Andrew says.
Andrew says the company is also analysing AI-generated responses to understand how different models interpret and recommend hotel content, using those insights to refine its data and content strategy.
The ChatGPT app allows users to discover EVT Hotels & Resorts properties through natural-language queries, explore room types and property information, ask questions before or during their stay, and begin the booking process directly from within the platform.
EVT says the launch forms part of its broader focus on technology-enabled guest experiences across its hotel portfolio, which includes brands such as QT, Rydges, Atura and LyLo.
