New Zealand hotels featured strongly at Accor’s 2026 Pacific Franchise Conference, with properties in New Plymouth and Christchurch among the major award winners as the hospitality group continues to expand its franchise network across Australia and New Zealand.
Held in Sydney from May 27-29, the conference brought together more than 270 franchise partners, hotel owners and industry leaders from across the Pacific region.
Kiwi hotels among top performers
New Zealand properties secured several of the conference’s top awards, led by Novotel New Plymouth Taranaki, which was named Hotel of the Year and received the Iconic Brand Delivery Award.
Novotel Christchurch Airport shared the Responsible Hospitality Award with Novotel New Plymouth Taranaki, recognising excellence in sustainability initiatives and operational performance.
Franchise growth continues
The conference highlighted Accor’s continuing franchise expansion across Australia and New Zealand, reinforcing the company’s focus on owner partnerships and hotel performance.
Accor chief operating officer Pacific Adrian Williams says collaboration remains central to the network’s success.
“This year’s conference reinforced the importance of partnership and alignment as we continue to evolve alongside changing traveller expectations and market dynamics.
“The conversations throughout the week reflected a shared commitment to delivering strong business outcomes while maintaining the quality and consistency guests expect from Accor brands.”
Industry outlook
Across two days, delegates took part in presentations and panel discussions covering hotel investment, revenue management, artificial intelligence, sustainability, loyalty programmes, food and beverage strategy and changing guest expectations.
The programme also highlighted Accor’s greet brand, which is expected to launch in Australia and New Zealand as the company expands its franchise offering across the region.
Accor chief franchise officer premium, midscale and economy division Leire Leoz says the conference plays an important role in supporting long-term growth.
