Ashford Motor Lodge has been awarded Gold Accreditation from Qualmark, recognising its performance in quality, sustainability and guest care.
The Gold Sustainable Tourism Business Award is the highest rating from Qualmark, Tourism New Zealand’s official quality assurance organisation. It signals a business is delivering strong service while operating with care for staff, the environment and the wider community.
The Christchurch property is one of two motels operated outside Invercargill by ILT, alongside Cable Court Motel.
ILT chief executive Chris Ramsay says the recognition was well deserved.
“Shelley and her team have worked hard to ensure the motel runs to a consistently high standard, and that focus shows in the experience guests have at Ashford.”
The independent review assessed areas including health and safety, business systems, workplace culture and environmental practices. Assessors also noted steps being taken to reduce environmental impact and improve the guest experience.
Manager Shelley Jenkins says the result reflected a team effort.
“This accreditation recognises the high standards our team works hard to uphold each day. We’re focused on operating efficiently and ensuring every guest enjoys a consistently high level of comfort and service.”
