New findings have revealed a significant gap in the adoption and awareness of multilingual event technologies across the Asia Pacific region.
Global businesses demand greater language inclusivity, and yet 63 per cent of multilingual business event organisers in APAC do not use Remote Simultaneous Interpretation (RSI) at major business events.
What’s more, nearly half of surveyed event organisers (49 per cent) are completely unaware of the existence of RSI, and 18 per cent have never heard of AI-powered speech translation. Perhaps more concerning is that roughly one in seven multilingual event organisers use none of these tools – RSI, live text captions or translation services – leaving event attendees at risk of feeling excluded from participating to their full extent.
The research, commissioned by multilingual event technology provider, Interprefy, highlights a disconnect amongst APAC-based multilingual event organisers and the need to tap into the latest technology to provide event attendees with the experience they have come to expect.
“Whether you’re hosting a high-stakes business meeting or a large-scale industry conference, enabling participants to follow and contribute in their own language isn’t just a courtesy, it’s a driver of engagement and effectiveness,” says Interprefy CEO Oddmund Braaten.
“Event attendees expect seamless, native-language access to content, discussions and decisions in every event format. As international event participation grows, APAC multilingual event organisers must close the gap or risk losing relevance and reach.”
Carried out in May 2025, the research surveyed the views of 600 APAC decision-makers working in events, marketing, project management and learning and development.

Understanding how best to deploy multilingual interpretation and live translation services – RSI, AI speech translation, live closed captions and live multilingual captions – to support attendees across a diverse range of events and professional meetings should become a priority as organisations look to meet a fast-growing demand from attendees for real-time multilingual engagement.
“Relying on a single language, whether the local language or English, often leads to friction, misunderstandings or reduced engagement,” says Oddmund.” Event professionals in APAC should be using multilingual live translation and interpretation services to ensure inclusivity and clarity.”
