Brook Serene Boutique Hotels has announced a leadership transition at Regent of Rotorua, with hotel manager Mike Eccles set to conclude his tenure in November after four years in the role. He will be succeeded by Damian Flynn, an experienced hotel leader with extensive expertise gained in New Zealand and international hospitality markets.
During his time as hotel manager, Mike Eccles played a key role in significant improvements to the hotel, including the addition of a new accommodation wing, the refurbishment of all guestrooms, and extensive upgrades to the reception, bar and Club Lounge areas. These investments have strengthened the guest experience and supported the continued growth of the property.
Bruce Garrett, managing director of Brook Serene, says the company was grateful for Mike’s contribution to the hotel’s development.
“After four years as hotel manager, Mike Eccles will be finishing with Regent of Rotorua in November. During Mike’s time with us, he was involved with the addition of a new wing of rooms as well as the refurbishment of all other rooms, the reception and bar areas, and our Club Lounge. We thank him for his time with the hotel and wish him well for the future.
“We are delighted to welcome Damian Flynn as our new hotel manager. Damian brings a wealth of hotel experience from New Zealand and overseas, and we are very pleased to have someone of his calibre joining the Regent team. We look forward to Damian bringing his expertise and fresh perspective to the role as he leads the hotel into its next chapter.”
