Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts is bringing Kilo of Kindness back for its 11th year, inviting guests, Heartists® and local communities to come together through simple acts of generosity that can make a meaningful difference.
Running from October 26 to November 27 2026, this year’s global activation will see 90+ Mövenpick hotels partner with local charities to collect the essential goods most needed by their communities, from non-perishable food and school supplies to clothing and personal care items.
Since its launch in 2015, Kilo of Kindness has grown from one simple idea – that even a small contribution can make a difference – into a global expression of Mövenpick’s spirit of generosity. More than 130,000kg of essential goods have been collected to date, bringing together hotels, guests, Heartists and charity partners around the world.
Following the annual activation, 2026 marks the beginning of a new chapter for Kilo of Kindness. Alongside the traditional collection of essential goods, individual hotels will continue to bring the initiative to life year-round through locally relevant activities such as volunteering, fundraising, and other forms of community support.
At the heart of this evolution is a simple belief: every act of kindness has weight. While kilos of essential goods will remain a central measure of the initiative’s impact, Mövenpick will also recognise the time volunteered by Heartists, funds raised for local causes, community activities delivered and charity partnerships supported.
Adrian Williams, chief operating officer, Accor Pacific, says, “For more than a decade, Kilo of Kindness has demonstrated the incredible impact our hotels, Heartists and guests can have when they come together with a shared purpose. Across the Pacific, we see firsthand the difference these acts of kindness make in the communities where we live and work. Whether it’s donating essential items, volunteering time or supporting local causes, every contribution helps create meaningful change and reflects the spirit of hospitality at the heart of Accor.”
Across the Pacific, all four Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts will take part in this year’s global activation, working with local charity partners to respond to the needs of their individual communities.
In Australia, Mövenpick Hotel Hobart will partner with the Hobart Women’s Shelter for the fourth consecutive year, collecting non-perishable food, clean clothing, toys and everyday essentials for women and children escaping family violence and homelessness. The hotel will also raise funds through the sale of DV Collective’s Silly Socks, with proceeds supporting women’s shelters and transitional housing programs across Australia. Last year, more than 100 Heartists participated, helping collect over 136 kilograms of donations.
Mövenpick Hotel Melbourne on Spencer will continue its partnership with DV Collective, collecting essential household goods to support women and children accessing crisis accommodation and support services. The hotel also supports the organisation year-round through the sale of Silly Socks, with proceeds helping fund urgent assistance, essential resources and long-term solutions for people escaping domestic violence.
In New Zealand,Mövenpick Hotel Auckland will partner with Auckland City Mission to collect donations of essential food and household items from guests and Heartists, supporting individuals and families experiencing hardship across the city. The hotel’s leadership team will also participate in a volunteer day at the Mission, assisting with the packing and distribution of donations to those in need.
Meanwhile, Mövenpick Hotel Wellington will once again partner with Wellington City Mission, inviting guests and Heartists to contribute non-perishable food and essential grocery items for its Social Supermarket, which provides free groceries and household necessities to up to 150 households each week. The initiative supports local families facing financial hardship while helping ensure access to nutritious food and everyday essentials.
Each participating property will work directly with its selected charity partner to identify the goods that are most useful to the community, ensuring donations respond to genuine local needs.
The 2026 activation will also encompass World Kindness Day on November 13, creating a shared moment to celebrate the people behind Kilo of Kindness and the many ways generosity can be expressed, both inside and beyond Mövenpick hotels.
At select Mövenpick hotels, including Mövenpick Melbourne on Spencer, Mövenpick Hobart, Mövenpick Auckland, and Mövenpick Wellington, guests will be invited to turn one of the brand’s most-loved traditions into another opportunity to give back. Through a special Chocolate Creation Experience, guests can create and personalise their own chocolate bar, with proceeds donated to the hotel’s local charity partner. Bringing together Mövenpick’s culinary heritage and spirit of generosity, the experience offers a joyful way to take part in Kilo of Kindness while raising additional funds for local causes.
Make someone’s day extraordinary
Inspired by Mövenpick founder Ueli Prager’s belief in making the ordinary extraordinary, this year’s Kilo of Kindness invites people to consider how everyday acts can have an impact beyond the moment itself.
From donating food or school supplies to volunteering time or simply doing something thoughtful for another person, Kilo of Kindness celebrates the idea that extraordinary moments do not always require grand gestures. Sometimes, a little extra care is enough to make someone’s day extraordinary.
Guests and members of the local community can take part in the 2026 Collection of Essential Goods at participating Mövenpick hotels between October 26 and November 27 2026.
