Hotel St Moritz Queenstown, part of the MGallery Collection, will host a weekend of events in support of Breast Cancer New Zealand, joining the brand’s global Pink October campaign, Move & Care.
Running across the MGallery Collection network throughout October, Move & Care brings together two pillars: Move, with movement, sport and wellness experiences for guests, and Care, focused on breast-health awareness, prevention and support. The campaign builds on ‘Committed To Her’, MGallery Collection’s ongoing commitment to women’s wellbeing, empowerment and access to care. It launches alongside new brand research revealing a gap between intention and action, with 76 percent of people delaying preventative health checks even when they know one is due, and seven in ten saying they have more time and headspace to think about their health and wellbeing while travelling.
In Queenstown, Hotel St Moritz, MGallery Collection is bringing that ambition to life with its own programme of events, all raising funds for Breast Cancer New Zealand.
The weekend opens today, Thursday October 29 with a ticketed cocktail evening for Queenstown’s business community, held in the hotel’s acclaimed Lombardi restaurant. Just 100 tickets are available for an evening of hospitality, silent auctions and giveaways, with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer New Zealand. Tickets are on sale now for $95 booking link here, with the event expected to sell out.
The Move and Care element of the weekend commences on Saturday October 31, inviting 30 guests to ‘Pose for your Pretties’, a guided yoga session in the Hotel St Moritz walled garden. The weekend concludes with a spirited finale that inspires bravery. On Sunday 1 November, guests will brave the alpine waters of Lake Wakatipu for a cold plunge in support of Breast Cancer Foundation New Zealand, taking the plunge together to raise further funds for the cause.
“Pink October is a cause close to our hearts, and we are proud to bring Queenstown’s community together for a weekend that celebrates connection while supporting the vital work of Breast Cancer New Zealand,” said Jo Finnigan, general manager at Hotel St Moritz Queenstown. “From an elegant evening in Lombardi to a bracing plunge into the lake, there is a way for everyone to get involved and give generously to this important cause.”
The Queenstown events reflect a wider belief across the global MGallery Collection that hospitality can be a force for positive change, using the space that travel creates to help people put their wellbeing back on the agenda. Around the world, participating properties are supporting reputable local charities and medical partners through their own Pink October initiatives, with Hotel St Moritz proud to stand behind Breast Cancer Foundation New Zealand and the thousands of New Zealanders affected by breast cancer each year.
