Travel + Leisure Co. has picked up the management rights for Auckland’s Barclay Suites, and a multi-million-dollar refurbishment is already under way.
They say the property isn’t closing while the work is done, and the current staff are staying on.
“Barclay Suites will remain open for bookings during the renovation,” a Travel + Leisure Co. spokesperson says. “We have retained the staff already working at the property and are expanding the team, with new positions available at careers.travelandleisureco.com.”
The apartments will be refitted from the floor up with a fresh look.
“The major multi-million-dollar refurbishment will see the Travel + Leisure Co. apartments redesigned with a contemporary colour scheme and outfitted with upgraded appliances, furniture, beds, soft furnishings and electrical fixtures and fittings,”
“Flooring will be modernised with wood panels in the living spaces and kitchens, while the bedrooms will be re-carpeted. Storage improvements and bathroom upgrades will be made across the apartments.”
Guests will see the change as soon as they arrive and Travel + Leisure Co. says, “The project will also see the creation of a more friendly and inviting reception space, with a warm colour scheme, more open welcome desk space, brand new furniture and signage.”
Barclay Suites now joins a vacation ownership network, where members stay using points rather than paying for each night.
In our vacation ownership models, owners or members have the right to use their credits or points as currency to stay at properties within their club portfolio. They can also purchase additional memberships which allow them to exchange their credits or points for tours, travel, cruises and stays outside of the club.”
