Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa has appointed Fiona Winger as general manager, with the Queenstown local returning to the resort town after leading luxury hospitality properties in New Zealand and overseas.
Fiona joins the hotel after serving as general manager of Rosewood Cape Kidnappers in Hawke’s Bay. During her 15-year career she has held senior roles with brands including Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Six Senses, Marriott International, Sheraton and Westin.
Fiona says returning to Queenstown comes at an exciting time for the hotel as it prepares for a refurbishment.
“Returning home to Queenstown to lead Sofitel is incredibly meaningful to me. As we look ahead to an exciting refurbishment, we have a unique opportunity to build on the hotel’s strong foundations and further elevate the guest experience.”
Vice president operations, Pacific – Sofitel Legend, Sofitel, MGallery & Emblems, David Fraser says Fiona’s experience leading luxury properties makes her well placed to guide the hotel through its next phase.
Located in central Queenstown, Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa is preparing for a refurbishment while continuing to operate as one of the resort town’s premium accommodation providers.
