MEETINGS will remain at Auckland’s New Zealand International Convention Centre for the next three years, providing certainty for New Zealand’s business events sector and cementing the venue as the home of the country’s largest industry showcase.
Business Events Industry Aotearoa announced the decision at the official opening of MEETINGS 2026 on Tuesday, with 750 delegates in attendance at the NZICC.
BEIA board chair Martin Snedden says the move followed careful consideration of the event’s future and would provide long-term value for the industry.
“The board wanted to ensure MEETINGS continued to evolve and grow. Staying at the NZICC for the next three years establishes long-term continuity. We can now plan for the future with confidence,” he says.
The announcement comes as more than 600 buyers from New Zealand, Australia, North America, China, India, Japan and Southeast Asia gather for the two-day trade show, meeting with exhibitors representing more than 220 organisations across 18 regions of New Zealand.
BEIA chief executive Lisa Hopkins says the decision would support the ongoing evolution of the event, which celebrates its 30th anniversary next year.
“Knowing that MEETINGS will be anchored at the NZICC means we can continue to ensure the trade show remains fresh and relevant, while at the same time enhancing the elements that we know are important to the industry,” she says.
Lisa says the regional familiarisation programme, delivered in partnership with the New Zealand Convention Bureau network, would remain a key component of the event.
BEIA also confirmed its next major industry gathering, with the BEIA Annual Conference 2026 and The Bizzies Awards to be held at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre from October 27-29.
