American Express and Accor have expanded their partnership, introducing a new Membership Rewards points transfer option for eligible card members in Australia and New Zealand.
The move allows eligible members to transfer American Express Membership Rewards points into the ALL Accor loyalty programme, adding another travel redemption option for customers in both markets.
Travel rewards focus
American Express says the new transfer option builds on its existing partnership with Accor and is aimed at strengthening its premium travel offering.
American Express vice president of cobrand, loyalty and partnerships Australia and New Zealand Nick Alexander says travel remains a popular use of reward points.
“Travel is a popular way in which our Card Members use their Membership Rewards points.
“This addition of a Membership Rewards transfer benefit with ALL Accor provides more ways for Australian and New Zealand Card Members to turn those points into travel experiences.”
American Express says members can transfer five Membership Rewards points for one ALL Accor Reward point, with points redeemable for accommodation, dining and experiences across Accor’s network.
Access to hotel portfolio
Accor says the arrangement gives members more ways to engage with its global portfolio of more than 45 brands, including Raffles, Fairmont and Sofitel.
Accor Pacific chief operating officer Adrian Williams says the partnership opens broader access to the ALL ecosystem.
“By converting Membership Rewards points into ALL Accor points, members can access everything from stays at our properties locally and around the world, to unique on-property experiences and exclusive events.”
Existing premium benefits remain
American Express says the new transfer option sits alongside its existing complimentary ALL Accor+ Explorer benefit for eligible Centurion and Platinum card members in Australia and New Zealand.
That includes status-based benefits such as room upgrades, early check-in and late check-out, member rates, bonus points and other hotel recognition benefits, subject to availability and programme terms.
