Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre is celebrating the success of event operations manager Camila Andrew, who has been named the Emerging Business Events Professional at The Bizzies 2025 – Aotearoa Business Events Awards.
The awards, supported by Business Events Industry Aotearoa, brought together 270 industry representatives at Cordis Auckland on Wednesday, November 26 to recognise excellence and impact across seven categories.
Te Pae Christchurch general manager Ross Steele says the team is proud to see Camila’s contribution recognised nationally.
“Since joining Te Pae Christchurch Camila has enjoyed a strong progression through the organisation, which is a great credit to her and reflects her dedication and commitment to professional development and the industry.
“Camila’s work ethic, commitment to delivery for our clients and support of her team have been frequently recognised within Te Pae Christchurch so it is wonderful she has now been recognised on the national stage.”
Ross says the awards highlight the strength of professional development opportunities across the business events sector.
“Camila is a fantastic example of the talent we are nurturing and developing in this industry, who are delivering world-class events to visitors from around the country and across the world.”
Camila’s nomination was supported by a number of clients, who commended her professionalism and engagement in coordinating events at the centre. Her team received a 95 per cent positive client rating during the 2024/25 financial year.
Ross says Camila has credited her colleagues for the win, reflecting the strong team culture built since Te Pae Christchurch opened three and a half years ago.
Te Pae Christchurch was also a finalist in two other Bizzies categories: Excellence in Environmental Sustainability and Outstanding Business Events Partner. The organisation congratulates all winners and finalists.
