Car rental companies partner up to bring expansion to NZ market

GO Rentals has announced a partnership with Enterprise Holdings – the world’s largest rental car company.

GO Rentals has secured the right to operate the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands in New Zealand starting August 1.

Enterprise Holdings is one of America’s largest privately owned companies and, through its network of affiliated companies, manages a diverse fleet of more than 1.85 million vehicles across its nearly 10,000 fully staffed neighbourhood and airport rental locations in more than 90 countries and territories.

Enterprise Holdings is looking forward to further expansion and growth in the New Zealand market, especially given the recent reopening of New Zealand to international travel.

GO Rentals chief operating officer James Dalglish says with Tourism NZ having a major focus on North America and Air NZ resuming long-haul flights, this makes Auckland one of the most connected cities in the world and that the partnership couldn’t have come at a better time.

‘’With the ramp-up of more international flights, including more planned flights between New Zealand and the United States, there is tremendous opportunity to bring the Enterprise standard of excellence to a broader base of customers.

“One of the best ways to see New Zealand is by car, the great NZ road trip. Renting a car allows visitors the opportunity to explore our country’s rich tourism offering.

“Our new partnership with Enterprise Holdings will make this more accessible to domestic and international visitors at an integral time, following a challenging period for many businesses around the country who rely heavily on tourism.’’

“As travel opens, more people need affordable, reliable rentals to see the sights of New Zealand they have dearly missed, and we are so thrilled and honoured to be a part of their journey,” says GO Rentals director John Osborne.

“This presents an incredible opportunity for our team. Enterprise brings international sales channels and many experts to our corporation.’’

With almost 10,000 global branches and more than 75,000 global employees, Enterprise offers an extensive network to ensure customers have greater access to the brands they know and love when travelling.

The partnership is a huge milestone for GO Rentals which is going from strength to strength after a challenging few years. GO Rentals have additionally acquired some of Redspot NZ’s business assets which include airport leases, fit outs, together with retaining their employees. Maintaining Redspot NZ employees is advantageous for continuity and local knowledge to hit the ground running, and will play an integral role being part of the wider team.

“Exemplary customer service is one of the founding principles that has made Enterprise so successful,” says Enterprise Holdings global franchising – Asia Pacific assistant vice president Marco Beltgens.

“We are thrilled to partner with GO Rentals, a New Zealand owned-and-operated business that offers an innovative approach to providing a seamless travel experience. Our new partner has demonstrated a commitment to quality and to creating the best-possible customer experience, which aligns perfectly with our approach.”
