Heritage Hotel Management is delighted to announce the appointment of Rachael Nicholson in the new role of group general manager operations, based in its corporate office in Auckland.
Rachael is an accomplished, highly respected travel and tourism executive with more than 23 years’ experience. She has held senior leadership positions in the cruise and airline industries in the United Kingdom, the United States and New Zealand.
During her 18-year career at Air New Zealand her portfolios of responsibility have included sales, revenue, operations, sponsorship, supply chain, strategy, and alliances.
She was most recently responsible for leading the airline’s Global Re-Start programme of work, overseeing the establishment of services to New York, and leading the governance of the airline’s COVID-19 response team comprised of executive and senior leaders.
Rachael is excited to be joining Heritage Hotel Management as the industry begins to re-build post COVID-19.

Rachael has a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science (Hons) from the University of Canterbury and published papers in the Journal of Travel Research and the Journal of Vacation Marketing. Rachael is keen to inspire and support the next generation of industry leaders and is a regular mentor for the not-for-profit Travel Industry Mentor Experience organisation.
Rachael commenced her job with Heritage Hotel Management on August 1.
