Queenstown Airport gearing up for the school holidays

Queenstown Airport is gearing up for the school holidays which begin on Friday, September 25.

Although the international borders remain closed, Queenstown Airport is ready to welcome domestic visitors to the Southern Lakes district over the September school holidays.

“It is wonderful that many Kiwis will be travelling over the coming weeks, exploring Aotearoa New Zealand and spending time with loved ones," says commercial manager Jessica Watson.

"We are expecting a busy school holiday period, which is very welcome in this part of the country.”

The Queenstown Airport Park and Ride service has been ‘in hibernation’ since April.

“Prior to COVID-19 the Park and Ride service was well used, and we know that for many people in the region, particularly those coming from a bit further away, it was a welcome and convenient option.  Because Park and Ride is not available at the moment we have introduced special parking rates at Queenstown Airport’s terminal carpark B to make travel arrangements easier and more affordable for members of the Southern Lakes community heading off to explore New Zealand or visit whanau over the coming month."

The parking promotion is available between Thursday, September 24 and Monday, October 26 in carpark B only and is offered on a first come first served basis.
