Christchurch gondola to rise again


Christchurch Attractions is excited to announce the re-opening of the Christchurch Gondola from Wednesday 1 July.

The Christchurch Gondola will be open between 10am and 4pm daily with the last
cabin departing from the summit at 4.30pm.

“We’re looking forward to being open in time for the school holidays after completing maintenance during our closure – this has included essential work on our cableway towers and on our Time Tunnel carts," says Christchurch Gondola general manager Mark Forster.

"The cabins are on the cableway,waiting to welcome guests.”

As a re-opening special, the Christchurch Gondola is offering the first 20 people through the doors a
50 per cent discount on adult Gondola tickets on Wednesday, July 1, 2020.

The Summit Station features panoramic views of the Canterbury Plains, Southern Alps and Lyttelton
Harbour which can be enjoyed from the Red Rock Café. Access to numerous walking tracks is a
feature of the Summit Station enhancing the experience of viewing Christchurch from a superb vantage
point.

Also at the Summit Station is the Time Tunnel – a short ride that details the history of the area, with free entry for visitors with a valid ticket or Annual Pass – and a gift store.

The Base Station has a large free carpark offering plenty of space for visitor parking and the Gondola
has convenient public transport links, making it easily accessible.

As a KidsFest 2020 event provider, the Christchurch Gondola is offering a Kids Go Free special for the
winter school holidays with three child tickets free per paying adult.
