AccorBot rolls out across the entire Pacific

Following the successful launch of ‘AccorBot’, Accor Australia’s integrated Facebook Chatbot, the group are delighted to roll out the virtual assistant across the entire Pacific.

AccorBot will join Accor’s New Zealand Facebook page, to assist the group’s 1.8 million Facebook fans across four different countries –Australia, New Zealand, Fiji & French Polynesia – with everything from hotel reservations, customer service queries, city guide information and more.

Created in-house by Nick Aldrich, Accor Australia’s communications and social media executive, AccorBot has successfully assisted thousands of guests in the bot’s short eight-month lifetime, truly transforming the way followers interact with the group on Facebook.

Within New Zealand’s new-look Facebook inbox, Facebook users are able to view, compare and book more than 300 hotels and resorts across the Pacific, without leaving the Facebook Messenger app.

AccorBot also streamlines customer service enquiries, guiding guests with simple prompts to gather all information and increase the response time to guest feedback.

AccorBot can also direct job seekers to Accor’s careers page, to learn more about life at Accor, leadership, graduate and Indigenous programs, and current job vacancies – so finding a career at Accor is made one-step easier.

“We’re incredibly excited to roll out AccorBot beyond Australia and across to the Pacific,” says Simon McGrath, chief operating officer Pacific, Accor. “After seeing how well AccorBot has worked in the Australian market, and the positive impact it’s made on our guest’s digital journey, the roll out of AccorBot in other regions was less of a question of ‘if?’ and more of a case of ‘when?’, which is why we’re so excited to be launching AccorBot across the Pacific.”

“Eight months ago we launched AccorBot, a bot which has since helped thousands of guests, reducing our average Guest Relations case time on social media by almost 85per cent,” says Nick.

“Not to mention, the first chatbot to publicly come out, during the 2019 Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras – of which Accor was the Official Accommodation Partner.”

“After assisting thousands of guests in just a short few months, I feel I’m ready to take on this expanded new role,” says Accor’s director of social chit-chat says AccorBot, “and am extremely excited to join the New Zealand/Pacific team. Don’t be a stranger – I’m always up for chat!”
AccorBot is currently shortlisted as a finalist for the ‘Best Use of a Chatbot in Social Media’ in the 2019 Social Media Marketing Awards.
