QT Hotels and Resorts welcomes new communications executive

QT Hotels and Resorts have appointed Shandelle Battersby to the position of communications executive for New Zealand.

Bringing almost 20 years’ experience as a travel and lifestyle journalist to the role, Shandelle joins QT after her most recent position as marketing and communications executive for Fiji marine tourism company, South Sea Cruises.

Since 1997 Shandelle has worked in various roles for the New Zealand Herald, including on the photographic desk, the news desk, as a production sub-editor and as deputy travel editor at Travel and Lifestyle and commercial editor at Viva.

Shandelle has also worked in Sydney on the Sunday Telegraph entertainment section. “I’m so excited to be joining the QT team,” says Shandelle. “As a passionate traveller, I’ve always loved staying at QT Hotels for their quirky touches and luxury finishes.

“For me, it’s been a brand that I’ve admired professionally for offering guests something truly unique, and I can’t wait to see what we create with the upcoming launch of QT Auckland.”

Shandelle has already commenced her position and is immersing herself across the QT brand.

“Shandelle brings such a wealth of experience as a lifestyle writer in all aspects of hotels, travel, food and wine,” Says national director sales and marketing Tracy Martin.

“ She is very well respected and connected in the New Zealand market, and we are thrilled to have her join the team.”

Shandelle will be based in Auckland and will spend time both in Wellington and Queenstown.
