Fiji Airways is expanding its Christchurch services, increasing flights from three to five times a week year-round from March 26 2027.
The additional flights operating Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, will add approximately 20,000 seats annually between Christchurch and Fiji, giving travellers greater choice and flexibility when planning their journeys.
The expansion reflects the importance of the New Zealand market to Fiji Airways and the airline’s continued focus on responding to demand while strengthening connectivity between Fiji and New Zealand.
The additional Christchurch services will also make it easier for travellers to connect through Fiji Airways’ Nadi hub to destinations across the Pacific, Asia and North America, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Apia, Noumea, Vanuatu and Nuku’alofa.
The increased frequency will further strengthen Nadi’s role as a regional aviation hub, creating more opportunities for passenger flows across the Fiji Airways network.
Fiji Airways managing director and chief executive officer, Paul Scurrah says increase in Christchurch services was an important step in strengthening the connection between Fiji and New Zealand.

We’re seeing more Kiwis choosing Fiji than ever before, and these additional services allow us to respond to that demand while giving travellers more choice and flexibility. Gordon Bevan, general manager Aeronautical Development at Christchurch Airport has also welcomed this expansion.

From Christchurch it’s only a short flight to a fabulous destination, so having five services a week year-round allows Cantabrians to access this great destination, or the Fiji Airways wider network to the US, Canada and Asia. More of us are using their Nadi hub to connect to Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Vancouver on the new Fiji Airways fleet”
The increased Christchurch services come as Fiji Airways continues to strengthen its wider New Zealand network in response to strong demand, giving South Island travellers greater choice when visiting Fiji. The expanded schedule reflects the strength of the relationship between Fiji and New Zealand, making it easier for families, businesses and communities on both sides to stay connected
