Accor is expanding its Mantra brand in New Zealand, signing two new-build hotels in Hamilton that will add 92 rooms to the city’s accommodation offering.
Developed by Hamilton-based Mistry Centre Ltd, Mantra Hamilton Pembroke Street and Mantra Hamilton Karewa Place are both expected to open in 2027.
The Pembroke Street property will offer 52 rooms near Hamilton Lake, along with an onsite gym and grab-and-go dining, while the 40-room Karewa Place hotel will include a restaurant and gym.
The two hotels build on Accor’s existing partnership with Mistry Centre, which is also developing the upcoming Pullman Hamilton.
Accor Pacific chief operating officer Adrian Williams says the additions reflect growing demand in the city.
“Hamilton is a city with strong momentum, growing visitor demand and an increasingly diverse travel market.
“By introducing two new Mantra hotels alongside the future Pullman Hamilton, we are creating a stronger, more complete accommodation offering for the city.”
Hamilton Mayor Tim Macindoe says the investment reflects increasing confidence in the city’s visitor economy.
“As more people discover what makes our city and region such a great place to visit, demand for quality accommodation continues to grow.”
The signings follow the opening of Mantra Central Wellington in April, joining Mantra on the Point Queenstown and Mantra Lake Tekapo in the brand’s New Zealand portfolio.
