Two Waipara wineries have been recognised on the international 50 Best Discovery platform, boosting North Canterbury’s profile as a food and wine destination.
Black Estate and Greystone have both been included on the global hospitality and travel guide, which showcases restaurants, bars, hotels and visitor experiences around the world.
Black Estate’s listing highlights its organic and biodynamic vineyards, restaurant and accommodation, while Greystone is recognised for its wines, restaurant and commitment to sustainable winegrowing.
Black Estate co-owner Penelope Naish says the recognition reflects the quality of the visitor experience in the Waipara Valley.
“It’s an acknowledgement that we have some very special and premium offerings in this beautiful valley.”
North Canterbury Wine Region chair Matt Barbour says the listings provide valuable international exposure.
“Recognition like this is huge. It helps elevate Waipara Valley’s profile internationally and encourages more visitors to discover the incredible food, wine and hospitality experience our region has to offer.”
