Accor has again been named a 5-Star Employer of Choice (500-plus employees) by HRD Australia and New Zealand, marking the fourth consecutive year the hotel group has received the recognition.
The award follows an assessment process combining a company submission on workplace practices and benefits with an anonymous employee survey. Staff rate areas including compensation, culture, career development and diversity and inclusion, with businesses needing an average satisfaction score of at least 75 per cent.
Accor chief operating officer in the Pacific region Adrian Williams says the result reflects the company’s people-first culture.
“Four years in a row is an outstanding achievement and a true reflection of our people-first culture.
“At Accor, we are building more than careers – we are creating opportunities for people to grow, belong, and thrive in an industry that is dynamic, diverse and full of possibility.”
Accor says learning and development remain central to its people strategy, with staff supported through on-the-job training, peer collaboration and structured programmes through The Academy.
The company also highlighted flexible work policies through its Work Your Way initiative, along with paid parental leave and wider social impact programmes.
Accor says its Indigenous Careers Program has supported more than 2500 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander team members into employment since 2015. In New Zealand, its Tangata Whenua Program is aimed at strengthening hospitality career pathways for Māori.
The group has more than 420 hotels, resorts and extended-stay properties across the Pacific, employing more than 21,000 staff.
