Craggy Range has opened a new luxury lodge within its Giants Estate vineyard in Havelock North, expanding its food and wine tourism offering in Hawke’s Bay.
The Lodge at Craggy Range opened this month and is designed as a private accommodation and event venue set among the winery’s vineyards beneath Te Mata Peak.
Craggy Range director Mary-Jeanne Peabody says the lodge represents the next stage in the winery’s hospitality development.
“The Lodge represents the next chapter in Craggy Range’s hospitality vision,” Mary-Jeanne says.
“We wanted to create a place that feels both luxurious and deeply grounded in our land – an experience shaped by our wines, our gardens and our people.”
Designed by Simon Clarkson Architects, the lodge features interiors inspired by the surrounding landscape, with natural materials including stone, timber and river stones sourced from Craggy Range’s Te Muna Estate Vineyard in Martinborough.
The 430 square metre property includes four bedrooms with private ensuites, along with indoor and outdoor living and dining areas designed for group stays and hosted experiences.
Accommodation packages cater for groups of up to eight guests and include daily breakfast provisions sourced locally, a Giants Estate wine experience and daily servicing.
Additional experiences such as private chef dinners, wellness treatments and curated regional activities can also be arranged.
Craggy Range head of people and hospitality Kristine Kilpatrick says the development strengthens Hawke’s Bay’s reputation as a wine tourism destination.
“We are proud to build on Craggy Range’s luxury accommodation offering while showcasing Hawke’s Bay as a Great Wine Capital and a world-class destination for food and wine,” Kristine says.
The lodge can also host private gatherings and events.
The opening follows the recent launch of The Loft at Craggy Range and forms part of the winery’s wider hospitality offering, which includes boutique vineyard cottages, cellar door tastings and the Craggy Range Restaurant.
