Great Journeys New Zealand has reopened bookings for its WOW Train VIP experience packages for 2026, following consecutive sell-out seasons in 2024 and 2025.
Delivered in partnership with World of WearableArt, the packages combine long-distance rail travel with attendance at the annual World of WearableArt Show in Wellington.
Two departures are scheduled for 2026:
- Thursday, September 24, 2026 – ex Auckland
- Friday, October 2, 2026 – ex Christchurch
The two-night packages include Wellington accommodation, a Gold ticket to the WOW Show and a return flight. During the train journey, passengers can view selected WOW garments, hear commentary on the design process, and take part in exclusive onboard experiences. A one-off menu and WOW goodie bag are also included.
Great Journeys New Zealand executive Tracey Goodall says the continued demand reflects both the strength of the partnership and the popularity of the event.
“As a proud partner of World of WearableArt, we’re pleased to be continuing these packages into 2026 after the strong response to previous seasons,” Tracey says.
The Christchurch departure includes travel on the Coastal Pacific train and the Interislander ferry en route to Wellington, while the Auckland departure offers a North Island rail journey to the capital.
World of WearableArt chief executive Meg Williams says the partnership helps extend the experience beyond the stage.
“Our long-running collaboration with Great Journeys New Zealand allows us to create a seamless end-to-end experience for audiences travelling to the show,” Meg says.
The WOW Train VIP experience packages for 2026 are now available to book via the Great Journeys New Zealand website.
