Fiji Airways has earned two major honours at the 2026 APEX Best in Airline Awards, winning best cabin service and best food and beverage in the South Pacific. The awards were announced at the APEX FTE Asia EXPO at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, and are based on more than one million verified passenger votes collected independently via TripIt by Concur.
The recognition follows the airline being named an APEX world class airline for 2026, placing it among the top 10 airlines globally. Fiji Airways is the smallest airline by fleet size to receive the distinction and the only carrier in Oceania included, joining a select group recognised for excellence in safety, sustainability, well-being and service.
Paul Scurrah, Fiji Airways managing director and chief executive, says the awards reflect the airline’s continued investment in its people and guest experience. “Receiving these awards is a proud moment for everyone at Fiji Airways. The awards reinforce our position as a premium carrier in the region. Our continued investment in service quality, dining innovation and training ensures that the warmth of Fiji shines through in every aspect of the journey.”
Chief customer officer Akuila Batiweti says the airline’s crew and culinary teams play a central role in delivering its service ethos. “Our cabin crew and culinary teams work tirelessly to deliver a uniquely Fijian experience at 35,000 feet – one that blends warm island hospitality, exceptional service and authentic flavours. To be recognised by our guests themselves makes this achievement truly meaningful.”
The latest APEX honours coincide with the rollout of Fiji Airways’ Pacific Rim menu and on-demand dining for business class. The new menu draws on flavours from across the Pacific, Australia, New Zealand, Asia and North America, while incorporating Fijian ingredients. Business class guests can dine when they choose, with dishes freshly plated onboard and details such as artisanal Fijian chocolate and a handcrafted vau flower. Cabin crew have completed culinary and wine-service training to support the new offering.
Economy class customers also benefit from an enhanced menu, including new meal options, mocktails, cocktails, hot chocolate and a broader range of snacks and beverages throughout the flight.
The APEX Best in Airline Awards recognise passenger experience excellence across more than 600 airlines globally, covering cabin service, food and beverage, seat comfort, entertainment and Wi-Fi.
Fiji Airways says it remains committed to raising service standards in the Pacific, combining Fijian warmth with curated dining and consistently high levels of care.
