Copthorne Hotel Wellington Oriental Bay has announced an important update regarding upcoming seismic strengthening and refurbishment works at the property.
Following a recent seismic assessment, the hotel has made the decision to progressively close the Bay Accommodation Wing, with full closure by Tuesday, October 28, 2025. This marks the first step in preparing for seismic strengthening and refurbishment works scheduled to take place throughout 2026 and 2027.
The progressive closure represents a proactive measure to ensure the safety and comfort of guests and staff. The hotel remains committed to maintaining the warm hospitality it is known for and will ensure all guest stays continue to be safe, comfortable and memorable.
The hotel will contact guests directly where bookings may be affected.
