Holiday Parks NZ is proud to partner with TimeOut to offer much-needed respite to families in need.
The partnership was confirmed by member vote at the 2025 Holiday Parks NZ Conference & Expo, held in Whakatū (Nelson) this July.
Every year, around 24,000 people and their families experience incurable illness in NZ.
Beyond the immense grief and emotional toll these illnesses take on all they affect, they also impact our most precious resource – time.
TimeOut helps families spend precious moments together by providing access to donated holiday accommodation — spaces where they can relax, reconnect, and make special memories away from hospitals and routines.
“As a park owner it’s so awesome to be able to support this charity. It’s great to offer support to families that just need a break in life,” says Nelson City & Queenstown TOP 10 Holiday Park’s, Takapuna Beach Holiday Parks & Waikuku Beach Holiday Parks owner and HPNZ member Steve Edwards.
“We all have inventory from time to time that isn’t being used, so if this opportunity gives one family a chance to get away and just be a family without the day-to-day stress, then it’s worth it!”
TimeOut aligns perfectly with the values of Holiday Parks around the country that have been providing space for whanau to connect, relax and make memories for more than 70 years.
“When life throws the unimaginable at a family, the most powerful gift is time together. This partnership between Holiday Parks NZ and TimeOut lets our holiday parks offer just that – a place to pause, breathe, and be with the people who matter most,” says HPNZ chief executive Emily Byrne.
