Tourism Industy Aotearoa has launched a new visitor learning module, designed to prepare international visitors before arriving in Aotearoa New Zealand.
The module, a short 20 minute online course, was developed by AU Consulting, and introduces key aspects of Aotearoa’s customs and protocols and cultural values to better educate tourists for a more authentic experience in New Zealand.
The Visitor Promise course aims to teach tourists how to engage respectfully while travelling in New Zealand, be good guests and support global indigenous youth knowledge exchanges.
A portion of each purchase of the module supports Native Nations United, funding Indigenous-led learning exchanges for rangatahi (youth).
The module is aimed at tourists/ visitors to help them understand more about our unique culture so they get the best out of their holiday experience, says a TIA spokesperson.
It can also be useful for operators to take the course so they can then share this with visitors as part of their offering.
