Regional Tourism New Zealand members gathered last week in Auckland and were excited to hear from the Minister for Tourism and Hospitality, Louise Upston.
The Minister’s announcement of the $3 million Regional Tourism Boost fund will provide the 30 Regional Tourism Organisations with an opportunity to work hand in hand to grow the number of tourists visiting New Zealand during 2025.
“RTOs are excited in the confidence that this fund shows in their work to spread the growth in visitors the government is investing in, across every region of New Zealand,” David Perks says, on behalf of RTNZ.
“We know that our communities love both the vibrancy and prosperity that visitors bring, and we want to use this fund to make sure that this impact is uplifted through every region in 2025.”
“Through the events of the last five years the RTOs have learned to make the most of working with each other and created meaningful and enduring partnerships with neighbouring regions and tourism sector businesses,” says RotoruaNZ chief executive Andrew Wilson.
“We will now be able to work with these partners to make the most of the opportunity the Minister has provided us with in the Regional Tourism Boost fund.”
