As part of Scenic Hotel Group’s innovation and elevation customer strategy, the group is looking to increase its hotel and hospitality offering in the Pacific Islands. To lead this initiative, Brett Inkster has been appointed to the role of property development manager – Pacific Islands.
A respected senior manager within Scenic Hotels for the past 25 years, Brett has successfully supported initiatives to enhance operational efficiencies and foster strategic growth in leadership roles across the group’s properties in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. He has overseen the successful launch of key properties including the Scenic Dunedin City Hotel and the Marlborough Convention Centre.
Brett has also spearheaded significant refurbishments, including multi-million-dollar projects at Scenic Hotel Marlborough and Scenic Suites Queenstown.
A key achievement has been Brett’s leadership at Scenic Matavai Resort Niue, where he oversaw the resort’s rebranding and ongoing refurbishment. His consistent delivery of outstanding profitability, and development of new sales channels has strengthened the resort’s position as a premier destination in the Pacific, through collaboration with the Niuean government and key stakeholders.
Scenic Hotel Group is New Zealand’s longest running network of hotels. In its 44 years of operation, it has established many deep connections and enduring relationships with trade and investment partners and developed unique relationships with its customers spanning generations.
Scenic Hotel Group CEO, Karl Luxon says these customers along with trade suppliers are increasingly wanting to use their preferred loyalty with Scenic Hotels in destinations and regions within the Pacific and into Australia.
“Brett’s focus is meeting with owners and operators of properties across the Pacific Islands, exploring how together we can help them ‘elevate’ their asset and tell their unique story.
“The group has amassed an incredible number of insights and experience over the last four decades of owning and running hotels. We want to share this success, along with our proven business systems and support functions via a number of platforms, such as Hotel Management and Franchise agreements, to non-branded affiliate and special programmes to assist properties and owners to achieve their objectives,” Karl says.
In the coming weeks, Brett has visits scheduled to Samoa, Cook Islands, Fiji, and Vanuatu. He is looking forward to meeting the people involved across the accommodation sector, along with independent owners and investors to discuss the many flexible and cost-effective solutions from Scenic Hotels.
