One of New Zealand’s premier eco lodges has appointed an experienced hospitality professional to the role of lodge operations manager.
Danielle Ingle joins the team at The Headwaters Eco Lodge this week and is looking forward to working for a property which delivers exceptional experiences and is deeply engaged with its community.
Danielle was most recently operations manager at five-star hotel Rosewood Matakauri in Queenstown, and previously spent two years in a combined role as general manager and sales and marketing manager at contemporary luxury property Azur Lodge.
She has worked in hospitality for 20 years, having previously grown up in an environment where her mother ran a B&B in Dunedin. Skills gained after completing a graduate diploma in hospitality and tourism management at Queenstown Resort College also saw her set up a small business offering hospitality relief management for small accommodation businesses in the South Island.
When not working, she describes herself as a keen snowboarder who loves to travel.
She says she is delighted to be joining a superb team at one of New Zealand’s most progressive sustainable eco lodges.
“The Headwaters Eco Lodge founders Debbi and Paul Brainerd are inspirational and visionary leaders in sustainability, and I can’t wait to join the team,” she says.
“My goal is to continue their outstanding work by continuing to look at ways to stay at the forefront of sustainability in the accommodation sector.”
Building a team culture that complements the accommodation and hospitality offerings at the lodge is of key importance, she says.
“The lodge already has a reputation as a premium provider of outstanding experiences for domestic and international visitors, for corporate groups, weddings and events.”
The Headwaters Eco Lodge general manager Kylie Broxton said they were thrilled to welcome Danielle to the role.
“Danielle has an impressive background in local and regional hospitality and the accommodation sector and she will complement the team we have in place in delivering exceptional experiences.”
Accommodation at the award-winning eco lodge features elegantly appointed premium eco chalets, and the main lodge building which is home to meeting rooms featuring state-of-the-art technology, and a beautiful lounge.
The Headwaters Dining Room is an exceptional garden-to-table food cuisine destination paying homage to locally-grown seasonal produce that’s artfully matched with stunning Central Otago wines.
Founded by American philanthropists Debbi and Paul Brainerd, The Headwaters Eco Lodge established a locally administered charitable trust which returns profits to the wider Glenorchy community.
