It’s been a year since the world’s leading luxury travel retailer DFS opened its newest store in the heart of Queenstown, New Zealand.
An exciting year it’s been with plenty of firsts — their first store in this exciting location, the first luxury offering in Queenstown and the largest in the South Island. It was the first resort galleria concept, and it also celebrated its first big community event, the Queenstown Fireworks.
The shopping destination has evolved and grown with the introduction of 12 new fashion brands since opening, from the likes of Loewe, Burberry and Moncler to more recent newcomers J W Anderson, Acne Studio and Marc Jacobs.
DFS has elevated its international style profile with a New Zealand designer pop up showcasing leading local brands Stolen Girlfriends Club and Zoe & Morgan, along with bringing design legends WORLD back to Queenstown.
Each brand displays its own personality with beautifully styled boutiques spread through the open and airy design instore, delivering an informal yet elegant atmosphere. Luxury watch brand Cartier has also been added to the mix of fine timepieces with globally renowned brands Tag Heuer, Breitling and Zenith.
Alongside fashion, DFS also welcomed newness in the form of local beauty brands Syrene and Raaie to accompany their extensive offering of global beauty brands including Abeeco, La Mer, Givenchy, Dior and Gucci Beauty.
DFS has been on a journey of going the extra mile, offering customers compelling reasons to visit their store. From enchanting Christmas activities to creative paint and sip events, captivating fragrance-making sessions, and thrilling product launch parties, the aim has been to transform shopping into a memorable experience.
One of DFS’s proudest achievements this year was its role in ensuring the Queenstown Fireworks lit up the night sky, bringing joy to the community with street and dance performances, warming hearts with free Patagonia hot chocolates, followed by the breathtaking fireworks display.
To top it all off, DFS hosted a charity boat cruise and silent auction, which raised an impressive $9000 for Love Queenstown, a giving platform that invites visitors and the tourism industry to protect this place, now and for generations to come.
DFS is thrilled to mark the one-year anniversary of its grand opening, and they want to express their heartfelt appreciation to cherished customers and the wonderful local community, by saying ‘thanks a dozen Queenstown’. To celebrate this special occasion, they’re rolling out an offer from Friday, October 27 to Sunday, October 29, with a 20 per cent discount on purchases $500NZD or above across all categories.
They’re also amping up the excitement with the chance to win one of 12 incredible prizes by offering customers the opportunity to try their luck at their in store claw machine. They are also offering a unique sneaker personalization service, along with dozens of doughnuts for valued customers to savour.
