JetPark Hotel Auckland celebrates 25 years of exceptional hospitality and community engagement

Recently, the team JetPark Hotel Auckland celebrated 25 years of unparalleled service, cherished memories, and a rich history of hospitality. From its humble beginnings in 1998, the hotel has grown into a renowned establishment, recognized for its commitment to guest experiences and community involvement.

Liz Herrmann, owner of JetPark Hotels, takes immense pride in the journey the hotel has undertaken.

“Our vision was always clear: to provide a haven for hospitality where guests feel at home and every moment is cherished.”

This vision, she says, has been the driving force behind the hotel’s success, with countless travellers hosted and lifelong connections formed.

The hotel’s inception was the brainchild of owners Liz Herrmann and John Lateurlere originally, it served as a convenient spot for travellers needing a comfortable stay and car storage near Auckland International Airport.

John with his strategic foresight, saw the potential in the location, anticipating the airport’s eventual expansion. While neither owner hailed from a hospitality background, their ambition was to establish a high-quality hotel where guests could enjoy a top-tier stay and park their vehicles during their travels.

JetPark’s reputation quickly soared, thanks to its strategic location, complimentary airport shuttle, five days of free car storage, and the warm hospitality of its staff.

Over the years, the hotel expanded its offerings, adding more rooms and upgrading amenities to cater to a diverse clientele, from business travellers to families and international tourists. Sustainability, community well-being, and positive environmental practices have been at the forefront of their operations.

Today, JetPark boasts hotel and conference facilities not only in Auckland but also in Hamilton and Rotorua. These establishments have seen significant renovations in the past year, ensuring they remain at the height of hospitality standards.

The hotel’s dedication to excellence hasn’t gone unnoticed. Over the years, JetPark has been showered with deserved priase, including the Westpac Business Awards, TripAdvisor awards, and recognition from the Hospitality Association of New Zealand for their outstanding customer service, training, and commitment to sustainability.

But what truly sets JetPark apart is its deep-rooted community focus. The hotel’s origins as a family-owned business continue to this day, with two of the founding family’s children actively involved in its operations. This family ethos still echoes in the organization, with a strong emphasis on values and vision.

One of JetPark’s heartwarming initiatives is the sale of toys named after “Tabitha,” the owner’s dog. For every toy sold, $5 is donated to accommodate pets, covering their resources, medical treatments, and therapy. This initiative alone has supported around 75 pets. Beyond this, JetPark’s generosity extends to supporting women’s refuges with donations of clothing, household items, and furniture. They also foster active relationships with the hospitality sector, schools, and training institutions, offering students invaluable experience and exposure in the hotel industry.

In addition, in a recent partnership with Coaching Pacifica Trust, JetPark launched a unique 12-week hospitality on-site work-based learning program, further showcasing their commitment to nurturing the next generation of hospitality professionals.

The future of JetPark remains bright and Liz says they remain dedicated to service excellence and continuous improvement.

“We’re excited for the next chapter and are deeply grateful for the unwavering support from our partners, suppliers, and the local community.”

“Here’s to the next 25 years!” she says.
