Budget 2023: Additional funding for continued Industry Transformation Plans for Tourism sector

Budget 2023 has been announced this afternoon, and Finance Minister Grant Robertson says $75 million funding will be allocated for Industry Transformation plans including the Tourism sector.

2022’s Budget rolled out an Innovation Recovery Programme for the Tourism sector, however this year, no new initiatives have been announced.

This Industry Transformation Plan for the Tourism Sector continues its phased plan to focus on growing a sustainable tourism industry that benefits New Zealanders.

While there is no further commentary on this, he says New Zealand’s fiscal position “remains strong” and treasury are no longer forecasting a recession.
