Queenstown’s luxury Sofitel Queenstown Hotel and Spa continues to blend its French Art de Vivre by introducing Le Goûter* as part of its menu offering at Le Salon Rouge.
Le Goûter is a French cultural tradition, likened to the British high tea, which features sweet and savoury treats served in the late afternoon at Le Salon Rouge.
General manager Jeremy Samuels says “Le Goûter is an opportunity to connect our guests to childhood French Art-De-Vivre, bringing to life a refined gastronomic yet playful offering.”
“Le Goûter is ordinarily paired with one of our Dilmah premium teas, however should you wish to enjoy with a glass of champagne or one of our carefully crafted cocktails – we certainly won’t judge.” he says
Sous Chef Imogen Liao delicately creates a range of petite pastries and sweet delicacies in-house, which are revealed to guests in a French inspired box. One such example is her opera gateau, consisting of 13 layers of alternating chiffon sponge, dark chocolate ganache, coffee syrup and raspberry gel.
Le Salon Rouge is open from Thursdays to Mondays. The delightful Le Goûter is served from 3pm – 5pm.
