Auckland’s visitor economy is set to benefit from the return of the New Zealand International Comedy Festival next month, with accommodation providers aligning with the event to capture demand.
voco Auckland City Centre has been named an official accommodation partner for the 2026 festival, which runs May 1–24 across Auckland and Wellington.
The festival is one of New Zealand’s largest annual arts events, featuring more than 400 performances across 15 venues, including international acts and the televised Gala.
Located in central Auckland, the hotel is positioning itself to host visiting performers and domestic and trans-Tasman audiences travelling to the city for the event.
General manager Chris Brett says the partnership reflects the role major events play in driving activity across the city.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the New Zealand International Comedy Festival and be part of the electric energy that takes over the city in May. Our partnership is designed to embed voco Auckland City Centre within the fabric of the festival, from hosting artists, audience offers, pre-show dining and Gala celebrations, we’re proud to help bring the fun, warm hospitality, and energy to the city.”
The collaboration includes accommodation offers and hospitality packages aligned with the festival programme.
Major events such as the Comedy Festival contribute to off-peak visitation and support demand across accommodation, hospitality and entertainment sectors in Auckland.
