Te Arikinui Pullman Auckland Airport has been ranked the third-best airport hotel in Australia and the Pacific in the 2026 Skytrax World Airport Awards, highlighting continued investment in airport precinct accommodation.
The result places the Auckland property among the top performers in the region and reinforces the role of airport hotels in shaping the overall travel experience.
Strong showing for New Zealand
New Zealand also featured elsewhere in the rankings, with Novotel Christchurch Airport placing fifth.
The awards reflect a broader trend of airport precincts evolving beyond transit spaces into integrated hospitality and visitor hubs.
Changing role of airport hotels
Precinct general manager Paul Columbus says the recognition reflects the growing expectations of travellers.
“Te Arikinui Pullman Auckland Airport was designed as a destination in its own right,” Paul says.
Industry commentary highlights a shift towards higher-quality accommodation and experiences within airport environments, catering to both business and leisure travellers.
Regional context
Parent group Accor dominated the regional rankings, operating five of the top six airport hotels across Australia and the Pacific.
The group has expanded its airport hotel portfolio in the Pacific in recent years, reflecting increasing demand for premium accommodation close to major transport hubs.
