Accor has appointed Rob McIntyre as vice president operations for New Zealand and Fiji, effective April 13, 2026.
Rob brings extensive operational experience and a strong understanding of the New Zealand market, having previously held senior leadership roles including general manager of Pullman Auckland Hotel & Apartments and regional general manager positions. Most recently based in Singapore, he led operations at Pullman Singapore Orchard.
His appointment marks a return to New Zealand for him and his family and comes as Accor continues to expand its footprint in the region.
Accor now operates 49 hotels and more than 6,300 rooms across New Zealand, along with four hotels and more than 600 rooms in Fiji.
Recent growth has included the launch of two new brands in Auckland — TRIBE Auckland Fort Street and JO&JOE Auckland — reflecting the group’s confidence in the long-term strength of the market.
In his new role, Rob says he is looking forward to building on that momentum.
“I’m thrilled to be returning home to New Zealand and to be stepping into this role at such an exciting time for Accor,” Rob says.
“New Zealand and Fiji are markets I know and love, and I’m looking forward to working closely with our teams and owners to build on the strong momentum, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and continue growing our diverse portfolio across the region.”
New Zealand’s hotel sector continues to trend positively. Queenstown saw strong growth from Australian arrivals in 2025, alongside increased meetings and corporate travel.
Auckland’s performance has been closely linked to major sporting and entertainment events.
Accor is also positioning itself to benefit from the upcoming opening of the New Zealand International Convention Centre, which is expected to generate significant accommodation demand in Auckland.
Further development is planned, including the opening of Pullman Hamilton later this year, expanding the group’s premium presence in the Waikato region.
Accor chief operating officer Pacific Adrian Williams says Rob’s appointment reinforces the group’s long-term commitment to the market.
“Rob’s deep operational knowledge, understanding of Accor’s brands and culture, and strong relationships with owners and teams make him ideally placed to lead the next phase of Accor’s journey in New Zealand and Fiji,” Adrian says.
Accor’s New Zealand portfolio spans major city centres and key leisure destinations including Queenstown, Lake Tekapo, Christchurch, Wellington, Rotorua and Auckland. The group operates 17 international brands in the country.
