Millennium Hotel Rotorua has completed a two-year, multimillion-dollar refurbishment, unveiling redesigned rooms and a refurbished club lounge.
All 228 rooms and suites, along with the club lounge, corridors and alcoves, have been remodelled in what the hotel describes as its largest upgrade in nearly 20 years.
The final stage of the project included a full refurbishment of the club lounge, which has reopened for the first time since 2020. Guests staying in club floor rooms and deluxe spa rooms have access to the lounge, which offers continental breakfast, daily refreshments and hosted evening drinks with chef’s tastes seven days a week.
Millennium Hotel Rotorua general manager Pipiana Whiston says the completed upgrade strengthens the hotel’s premium offering.
“We are thrilled to mark the completion of our refurbishment with these final premium features. The popularity of our club lounge since its reopening reinforces that travellers are seeking out the luxury comforts, personable service, and add-ons that elevate their stay. Every aspect of this project has been designed with our guest in mind and Rotorua at its heart, blending local identity with hospitality,” says Pipiana.
Pipiana says the updated rooms and public spaces complement the hotel’s existing amenities.
“Our in-house spa, Zazu Lounge Bar, and Nikau Restaurant come together to deliver a cohesive offering that strengthens our ability to provide the warm, welcoming stays we are known for,” she says.
The hotel also caters for corporate groups and conference delegates, with eight flexible event spaces accommodating up to 350 people.
Millennium Hotel Rotorua is located within walking distance of the Rotorua Lakefront, Government Gardens and the Energy Events Centre. The property offers free off-street parking, including three electric vehicle charging stations.
The hotel is a member of the Tourism Industry Aotearoa Sustainability Commitment and supports the Tiaki Promise. Millennium Hotel Rotorua is part of Millennium & Copthorne Hotels’ network of 19 properties across 12 New Zealand locations.
