Coronet Ridge Resort has opened in Queenstown following a multi-million-dollar redevelopment, adding a new five-star property to the region’s luxury accommodation offering.
The 41-room alpine retreat is located above the Shotover River in Arthur’s Point and is led by general manager Ethan Heng. The property has been redeveloped as a high-end sanctuary combining a secluded setting with proximity to central Queenstown.
Capstone Hotel Management founder and managing director Clare Davies says the resort marks a new chapter for luxury hospitality in the area.
“We are delighted to welcome guests to experience a new era of luxury hospitality amid the secluded beauty of New Zealand’s Southern Alps,” says Clare.
“Coronet Ridge Resort offers peace and tranquillity while remaining just minutes from the energy of central Queenstown.”
Accommodation
Designed by G2 Studio, with interiors developed in collaboration with Furnz Group, the resort features 41 rooms and suites, each with a private balcony or patio and views across the surrounding alpine landscape.
Room options range from 37 square metre alpine view and Shotover River view rooms, including three accessible rooms, through to Shotover Suites and the two-bedroom Coronet Suite. Entry-level room rates start from $835 per night including breakfast.
Dining
Elevation Bar & Restaurant offers dining with panoramic views across the Wakatipu Basin, the Remarkables and the Shotover River.
Executive chef Dominic Dsouza leads a seasonally driven menu using locally sourced ingredients, with dining options ranging from breakfast and brunch through to dinner and après-ski. Guests can dine on the terrace or indoors beside the open kitchen and bar.
During winter, the Library Bar offers a more intimate setting with a fireplace and a wine and whisky selection focused on Central Otago and international producers.
Amenities
Resort facilities include a Roman-inspired day spa, outdoor hot tubs, a fitness centre, squash courts and a private cinema. Spa treatments incorporate New Zealand-made botanical skincare products, with all treatments including access to the indoor heated pool, sauna and steam room.
Meetings and events
Coronet Ridge Resort also caters for small corporate gatherings and private events, with a conference space accommodating up to 30 delegates in a boardroom-style layout. Additional facilities include breakout spaces, dining venues and spa access for group bookings.
Location
The resort is less than 10 minutes’ drive from central Queenstown and Coronet Peak ski area, offering guests access to both alpine activities and the town centre while retaining a secluded setting.
“With Coronet Ridge Resort, we’ve created a haven that honours Queenstown’s reputation as a luxury destination,” says Clare.
“Every detail has been considered to give guests the opportunity to relax, reconnect and enjoy everything they need without leaving the property.”
